DEDICATED TO SERVING ASTROLOGICAL RESEARCHERS AROUND THE WORLD!!!

AARC is a research center of the Avalon School of Astrology, a non-profit postsecondary educational institution licensed by the State of Florida Commission for Independent Education. AARC is a public service. We welcome everyone to participate and contribute.

Our mission is to facilitate astrological research and to assist astrological researchers.

Some burning questions of our times are:

  • What is astrology?
Some of the ossible answers are: divination, pseudoscience, language, a set of theories that one day will be scientifically validated.
  • Does astrology have objective validity? By “objective validity” is meant the ability of astrology to make statement about reality in a manner that meets the fundamental requirements of scientific inquiry
Research helps answer these questions. Research that helps answer the second question regarding what objective validity astrology may have is of paramount importance, but other kinds of research also shed light on what the nature of astrology is.

AARC provides a free service available to the public that includes:

  • Assistance for researchers regarding questions you may have or issues that you are facing in astrological research.
  • Rapid publication of research articles on this website. Researchers can submit results of research to AARC and have the research paper appear on this website within a week, rather than wait months or years for a journal or magazine to publish the article. The research paper is also available permanently at this website.
  • Research papers, including pilot studies and ongoing research that suggests the possibility of demonstrating objective validity of astrological principles.
  • Research papers that indicate that some astrological principles do not, in themselves, have objective validity.
  • Articles on how to conduct research. These articles address a broad range of topics, such as problems of confounding variables, the proper collection of data to qualitative research methods, software tools for conducting research, etc.
  • Articles on a definition of what astrology is, or is not, based on the experiences of practicing astrologers, historians, philosophers, and scientists.
  • Links and cooperation with astrological organizations that are involved in astrological research. AARC is not an insular organizations, and cooperates with other organizations and individuals involved in serious astrological research.

AARC filters out unrelated issues and superficial arguments so that you are not hampered by wading through a lot of unrelated material before getting to useful information. This website is also organized to help you find the information that you need.

ARC is supported primarily through voluntary efforts. The center does not have an endowment or grant to support its operations. Because AARC is a center within The Avalon School of Astrology, AARC is a non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. Please consider donating to AARC! Your donation will help AARC with important activities such as covering expenses for the first annual conference.
